WALLS

The Walls Collection was inspired by the works of Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, by his playful use of different materials to build facades of National and University Library of Slovenia and his own house in Trnovo. The symbolism inherent in a wall also provoked me to ask what kinds of border we build in our everyday life, and what are the boundaries we deal with. To give my response, I began to manipulate the wall as a place to leave a message. I created a collection of graffiti brooches that are worn on the left chest site, protecting the heart and giving answers. I used raw materials, bricks and stones, to reach beyond the border of just using traditional gold and silversmith materials. I combined them with some small architectural elements in silver, copper and brass.

The collection was exhibited in galerija Feniks in Ljubljana. It was part of the Tat-Ort-Schmuck exhibition in Kunst.wirt.schaft Gallery, in Graz and the Design without Borders exhibition in Budapest.
